After several teasers, 100 Thieves finally revealed its Marvel Rivals roster, which is comprised of the former Team Mutants players.

The team has been invited to the esports organisation’s Los Angeles facility to bootcamp and prepare for the Marvel Rivals Invitational North America.

100 Thieves already confirmed its entry into Marvel Rivals esports on March 10th. Through a short video and a series of social media posts, the roster members were then announced yesterday, consisting of the former Team Mutants lineup:

  • Anthony ‘delenaa’ Rosa (Duelist)
  • Marschal ‘Terra’ Weaver (Duelist)
  • Harvey ‘hxrvey’ Scattergood (Strategist)
  • James ‘SJP’ Hudson (Strategist)
  • Eric ‘TTK’ Arraiga (Vanguard)
  • Vincent ‘Vinnie’ Scarantine (Vanguard)
  • Huu ‘Billion’ Ngo (Flex)

The team will be managed by ‘BlueJae’ and coached by Joshua ‘Tensa’ Small, who is also a coach for Fisher College’s Overwatch squad.

Team Mutants’ former roster has built a successful track record within the nascent Marvel Rivals esports scene, winning the Championship Season 0 NA and the Battle For Asgard tournament.

After signing with 100 Thieves, the players’ success continued at the Rivals Fight Night #2. Earlier today, the team defeated both FlyQuest and Fight Night #1 winner Sentinels to secure its first title under the new banner.

High Hopes for Marvel Rivals Esports

Fellow North American esports organisation Sentinels unveiled its much-anticipated Marvel Rivals roster on March 3rd, following the likes of Fnatic and Luminosity hoping to capitalise on the hero shooter’s popularity.

Similarly, 100 Thieves Founder Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag expressed high expectations for the game’s esports scene in a press release: “Marvel Rivals is a once-in-a-generation gaming title and I’m thrilled to see how this talented team, with their already impressive wins, will perform.”

100 Thieves’ Vice President of Esports, Joseph Jang, confirmed the organisation’s long-term investment in Marvel Rivals esports: “While the Marvel Rivals esports circuit has yet to fully take form – I’m bullish on the future potential of the game and want to make sure 100 Thieves is actively shaping and building a core part of the Marvel Rivals esports scene moving forward.”

With such ambitions, the new roster is already training for the upcoming Marvel Rivals Invitational at 100 Thieves’ facility in Los Angeles, U.S. The North American competition of the cross-regional event kicks off later today.

Running until March 23rd, the tournament will see eight teams fight through a Swiss Stage and Double-Elimination Bracket for a share of the $100,000 (~£77,300) prize pool.

The EMEA Invitationals concluded on March 9th with Virtus.Pro securing first place over runner-up Team OG.
