Alienware, a leading American PC hardware brand, has officially entered the collegiate esports scene with its first Apex Legends tournament, the Alienware Collegiate Clash 2025 (AWCC25).

Organised in collaboration with Oversight Esports, the tournament features universities equipped with Alienware Lounges and a few wildcard entries from schools with existing partnerships with the brand.

With the Grand Final taking place on April 12th at 3 PM EST / 7 PM GMT at Purdue University, the top 10 qualifying Apex Legends teams from the preliminary rounds will battle it out to win a custom-designed trophy and medals by Volpin Props, along with an Alienware gaming kit.

A total of six matches will be played to determine the champion. Here is the list of qualified universities competing in the matches:

  • San Jose State University
  • Texas A&M University
  • Purdue University Esports Gold
  • Florida International University
  • Minnesota State Mavericks
  • UKY Blue
  • UT Varsity
  • Saint Clair Saints
  • Ball State University
  • Purdue University Esports Black

“AWCC25 is more than a tournament—it’s the next step in Alienware’s vision for collegiate esports. By establishing Alienware Gaming Lounges, the company is creating spaces for students to connect, compete and grow both academically and socially,” the official announcement from Alienware stated.

“Beyond the competition, Alienware is dedicated to helping students advance across all facets of the gaming industry, from design and development to tech infrastructure and esports management. The goal is clear: drive innovation and foster growth in a rapidly evolving industry.”

Moreover, Alienware has confirmed plans to expand its partnerships to more schools in 2025, with details about the next edition of the Alienware Collegiate Clash set to be announced in the coming months.
