Call of Duty League adjusts map pool ahead of Major 3

The Call of Duty League (CDL) has announced it has made changes to its map pool following the conclusion of Major 2.

As a result, the Skyline and Vault maps will no longer feature in Search and Destroy matches.

Replacing Skyline and Vault are Rewind and Dealership. Rewind was one of several maps that arrived when Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was released in October 2024 while Dealership arrived as part of the title’s Season 2 update.

The change to the Call of Duty League’s map pool takes the total number of maps used in competitive play up to seven. In addition to Search and Destroy, the CDL also includes Hardpoint and Control for its game modes.

Rewind and Dealership will make their competitive debuts during online qualifiers for the third Major of the 2025 season beginning on April 4th, 2025.

Call of Duty esports is no stranger to adjusting its map pool in a bid to inject a breath of fresh air into the Call of Duty League, Challengers and its in-game Ranked Play mode. In 2024, 6 Star and Vista arrived to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 as part of its Season 3 update.

The reaction to the arrival of Rewind and Dealership has been mixed. “Dealership SnD is the biggest go f— yourself that I’ve seen the CDL do,” said Challengers player Peirce ‘Gunless’ Hillman.

Despite some pros disliking Dealership, 2025 is shaping up to be a strong year for the Call of Duty League. Major 2 recorded solid average viewing figures as Atlanta FaZe achieved its second victory of the season.

Additionally, the league has announced its season-ending Championship Weekend will be hosted by OverActive Media. Taking place at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium in Ontario, Canada, this year is the first time the event has taken place outside of the United States.
