Call of Duty League Major 2 2025 has recorded an average viewership of 121,815, a similar figure to its 2024 edition.

The event, won by Atlanta FaZe, peaked at 199,723 during a match between tournament hosts OpTic Texas and Minnesota Rokkr, according to esports data platform Esports Charts.

Taking place at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas, the Grand Final between FaZe and Vancouver Surge was the second most-watched match of the tournament, peaking at 176,915.

Overall, Vancouver Surge recorded the most total hours watched across CDL Major 2, garnering a figure of 1.1m. Likely due to the team’s early exit at the event, OpTic Texas didn’t feature in the top five.

Compared to 2024’s Major 2, average viewership was almost identical to this year. Last year’s event recorded an average of 121,919. However, Major 2 2024 peaked at a significantly higher viewership of 244,478, highlighting a 22.6% decrease compared to this year.

Major 2 also recorded similar viewing patters compared to 2025’s first CDL Major, perhaps highlighting how Call of Duty has managed to curate a core audience. CDL Major 1 2025 averaged 113,205 viewers while it peaked at 233,789 in a match between Los Angeles Guerrillas M8 and OpTic Texas.

The most-watched Major of the CDL era is the 2023’s Stage 3 where its Grand Final between Atlanta FaZe and OpTic Texas recorded 335,170 viewers during the Grand Final.

What’s Next for the Call of Duty League?

During CDL Major 2 2025, OverActive Media announced it will host this year’s CDL Championship Weekend. The season-ending event will be held at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium in Ontario, Canada. This year marks the first time the event has taken place outside of the United States.

Before that, the Call of Duty League 2025 Major 3 will take place next month in Boca Raton, United States. Moreover, the CDL Major 4 will be held during DreamHack Dallas in May.

Viewership continues to show signs of stability as the CDL reaches the halfway point of the 2025 season. The arrival of French esports organisation Gentle Mates has resulted in the league capitalising on the passionate French fanbase.

With Atlanta FaZe looking to secure a third consecutive Major win, the second half of the season is looking promising.
