FaZe Clan has unveiled its Halo roster ahead of the Kaysan Showdown kick-off tournament.

The North American esports organisation is one of seven teams participating in the Halo Championship Series (HCS) partner team program.

2022 world champion Joey ‘Trippy‘ Taylor joins the organisation alongside Michael ‘Falcated‘ Garcia, Donnie ‘Suppressed‘ Lopez and former OpTic Gaming player Zane ‘Penguin‘ Hearon.

The team is one of four competing at the Kaysan Showdown, the opening event of the 2025 HCS season. The invitational will see FaZe Clan, OpTic Gaming, Spacestation Gaming and Shopify Rebellion compete for a share of $50,000 (~£38,635) in prize money.

The first HCS Major will occur in Arlington, Texas from April 18th to 20th, 2025. Hosted by OpTic Gaming, the event will feature 16 teams battling it out for a $250,000 (~£193,193) prize pool. 64 amateur teams will compete in the Open Bracket to secure one of four spots in each pool.

Halo esports is continuing to hold its own in an increasingly competitive genre. The 2024 edition of the Halo World Championship broke 100,000 peak viewers, becoming the 10th most-watched event in the franchise’s history.

The season-ending tournament returns in 2025 and takes place in Seattle, Washington in October with another $1m (~£772,916) prize pool on the line and a chance to become world champion.

Reaction to the roster has been a mixed bag. “Low-key might be a top 3 roster,” said one fan. On the other hand, others aren’t convinced by the line-up. “Mid at best, we won’t be seeing us ever [competing on a] Sunday for sure,” another adds.

FaZe Clan has competed in Halo’s top tier of competition for several years, cementing itself as one of North America’s strongest teams.

Outside of the shooter, 2025 has already proven to be a success. In February, the organisation’s Rainbow Six Siege roster achieved victory at the 2025 Six Invitational, marking the first time the organisation has won the esport’s most prestigious trophy.
