Fnatic and Team Nemesis are among the competitors taking part in the eighth edition of the Malta Cyber Series.

The two UK-based esports organisations are part of a six-team Rainbow Six Siege tournament taking place from March 14th to 16th, 2025.

Malta Cyber Series VII Format

The tournament will see all six teams drawn into a double-elimination bracket. Apart from the Grand Final, all matches will be a best-of-three, while the Grand Final will be a best-of-five.

The team that qualifies for the Grand Final from the upper bracket will receive a one-map advantage, meaning they require two victories to be crowned champion.

Malta Cyber Series VII Teams

Fnatic and Team Nemesis aren’t the only UK-based esports organisations taking part in the Malta Cyber Series. Wolves Esports, the esports branch of Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers, will also field its roster.

Rounding out the teams are Italian organisation MACKO Esports, Team Secret and Ence.

Notably, the event marks the first time Team Secret has competed in Rainbow Six Siege since its CEO came under fire for mocking its former player Jake ‘Virtue’ Grannan during the 2025 Six Invitational.

Following the Six Invitational, Rainbow Six continues to attract the attention of esports organisations looking to expand into Ubisoft’s tactical shooter.

In recent months, the likes of Weibo Gaming and Cloud9 have unveiled rosters competing in regional and international competitions.

2025 is set to be another big year for Rainbow Six esports. In February, Ubisoft unveiled Rainbow Six Siege X as the next evolution of the series.

The developer says the evolution is ‘the biggest transformation in the game’s history’ and will contain updates to graphics, audio, and gameplay.

With its release date unclear, it’s likely the Rainbow Six esports circuit will transition to Siege X when it launches. Siege X appears to be a change similar to how Valve transformed Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, into Counter-Strike 2 in 2024.
