M80 teams up with Omnic to implement AI coaching capabilities

North American esports organisation M80 has announced a partnership with AI platform Omnic.AI.

According to a release, M80 will utilise Omnic AI’s Omnic Forge AI tool to support its in-person coaching across the organisation’s current esports rosters and programmes, such as M80 x IMG Academy.

The Omnic Forge AI coaching tool utilises computer vision and deep learning to analyze players’ gameplay and identify opportunities for improvement. This includes providing personalised advice, tracking players’ progress and comparing them to top players.

Founded in 2021 by MIT alumnus and former nuclear engineer Shaun Meredith, Omnic’s AI tool is currently available for VALORANT, Fortnite, Rocket League, Overwatch 2 and Madden NFL 25, with more to be added in the near future.

The partnership with M80 further expands Omnic’s presence in the esports sector. Earlier last year, the AI company signed a partnership deal with North America’s largest scholastic esports platform PlayVS, allowing its students to use Omnic Forge for free and assisting them during training sessions. The company previously also partnered up with gaming arena operator Belong Gaming to focus on the UK and European markets.

“By partnering with Omnic.AI, we’re offering both our current pros and emerging talent with 24-7 free access to resources that will level up their game,” commented Marco Mereu, M80 Founder and CEO.

“M80 has always embraced the opportunities that cutting-edge technology unlocks, and we’re leaning on it now to help our teams gain an edge over the competition.”

M80 Continues to Strengthen its Operations

M80 is a multi-title esports organisation that competes across VALORANT, Dota 2, Rainbow Six: Siege, Counter-Strike and eNASCAR.

At the end of 2024, the company completed the acquisition of Beastcoast to retain its Dota 2 team, marking its entry into Valve’s game title. Additionally, the acquisition included Beastcoast’s Pokemon media business and brought in key staff members like Grant Zinn, who is now M80’s Chief Business Development Officer.
