This comes after CEO, Antonio Todisco, made a public statement on X that the organisation ‘encountered significant challenges’ over the past five years.

Todisco said: “As the CEO of Macko Entertainment Srl and Founder of Macko Esports, I would like to express our gratitude to PG Esports and Riot Ita for their collaboration over the past years.

“However, it is with regret that I announce that, after numerous frictions, we find ourselves in the position of having to suspend our partnership.”

He followed by saying that this was not the end of the organisation’s participation in League of Legends.

“We are announcing a hiatus from the competitive League of Legends scene,” Todisco said. “This will allow us to reassess our strategies and explore opportunities that offer better prospects for the future.

“It is essential for us that the community understands we are not stepping away but preparing to return stronger when conditions become favourable for the growth of a sustainable system.”

Macko Esports Drops Out From LIT

Prior to the announcement, the organisation’s League of Legends roster was preparing for the upcoming LIT 2025 Sprint Split. The seemingly sudden hiatus came as a shock to its players.

Sebastian ‘Color‘ Czyżyk, toplaner for Macko Esports, said: “Yesterday there was no doubt that we were gonna be part of the upcoming split and still practised for it (which was supposed to start today). Sadly it’s not going to be the case.

“Thanks Macko Esports, for not being just another team but a place where I felt like ‘home’ for the past year.”

In a post on X, LIT released a statement bidding farewell to the organisation that will no longer participate in the event.

The statement said: “After memorable seasons of competition, crowned with seven national titles and numerous achievements, the path of the Macko Esports NEL League of Legends Italian Tournament (LIT) comes to an end.

“We want to thank all the players, staff and collaborators who have contributed over the years, leaving an indelible mark on the competition.”

Macko Esports Success in the League Of Legends Ecosystem

Macko Esports is considered one of the best Italian teams in League of Legends esports and has gone on to compete in international events. It was first established in 2018 before it merged with Racoon Esports in 2022.

The team recently competed in the LIT 2025 Winters tournament, achieving first place and qualifying for EMEA Masters Winter 2025.

Macko Esports has been a top competitor in LIT dating back to when it was originally called PG Nationals, reaching first across numerous tournaments over the years.

In its announcement, LIT added: “Macko Esports has written important pages in the history of LIT, with victories, unforgettable challenges and moments that will remain etched in the memory of the community.

“Your commitment, your passion and your competitive spirit have made these years extraordinary. We hope that our paths will cross again in the future.”
