North American esports organisation NRG has revealed Volt, an powered by decentralised cloud infrastructure provider Theta Labs.

Powered by Theta EdgeCloud technology, Volt aims to enhance community engagement as a comprehensive companion for fans of the esports organisation.

Directly integrating into NRG Discord and website, Volt will provide fans with a range of insights and interactions by utilising official game data. This includes providing:

  • Real-time match data, play breakdowns and strategy discussions
  • Live match statistics and player performance tracking
  • Team schedules, standings and circuit point updates across all competitions
  • Knowledge of NRG history and quizzes for fans
  • Exclusive access to NRG giveaways, community events and merchandise promotions

The chatbot has officially gone live now, with additional features and platform integrations to be announced in the coming months.

Volt will also cover all of NRG’s rosters in VALORANT, Rocket League, Counter-Strike and Apex Legends. The North American esports organisation is headquartered in Los Angeles and has partnered with the likes of Rockstar Energy Drink, Republic of Gamers and Samsung Galaxy in recent years.

AI Esports Chatbots Are on the Rise

“NRG is committed to innovative fan experiences, and Volt powered by Theta EdgeCloud represents the next evolution in how we engage with our community,” shared Hauk Nelson, Director of Business Development at NRG. “Thanks to Theta, we can provide our fans with instant access to stats, merchandise, and team updates across all of our competitive titles…”

However, NRG is not the first esports organisation to leverage Theta’s EdgeCloud technology to increase fan engagement. Last year, fellow North American esports organisation FlyQuest teamed up with Theta to launch its own AI chatbot, a.PhiD.
