The Overwatch Champions Series‘ first-ever Promotion/Relegation tournament is finally taking place with two FACEIT teams from North America and EMEA looking to gain promotion to OWCS Stage 2.

After going through qualifiers, these teams will face off against the bottom two sides at OWCS Stage 1’s NA and EMEA leagues on April 14th.

The top two teams in each competition will qualify for their regions’ OWCS Stage 2, while the rest will compete in FIL Season 5.

The tournaments will be held in a double-elimination format, with games being first-to-three. The first round will see the OWCS Stage 1 relegated sides face off against the FACEIT competitors.

EMEA Teams

EMEA Relegation will see the bottom two from OWCS EMEA Stage 1 play against the top two of FACEIT League (FIL) Master Division Season 4.

These are the teams that will compete in OWCS 2025 EMEA Stage 1 Relegation.

  • Team Vision – EMEA Stage 1
  • Sakura Esports – EMEA Stage 1
  • Quick Esports – FIL Masters Season 4
  • Frost Tails Esports – FIL Masters Season 4

Vision and Sakura were relegated after placing lower than teams such as Gen.G, Al Qadsiah, and Virtus.pro.

The upper bracket semi-finals will begin with Team Vision playing against Frost Tail Esports, while Quick Esports will face off against Sakura Esports.

It’s worth noting that Team Vision previously beat Sakura 3-2 back in January 31st. Team Vision came out victorious on Blizzard World, Havana, and Lijiang Tower. With these maps returning in the Relegation map pool, history may repeat itself should the two teams come face to face again.

NA Teams

NA Relegation will mirror the same format as EMEA, but will feature the bottom two of OWCS NA Stage 1 against the top two of NA’s FIL. The participants are:

  • Shikigami – NA Stage 1
  • Amplify – NA Stage 1
  • Supernova – FIL masters Season 4
  • DhillDucks – FIL Masters Season 4

The upper bracket semi-finals will see Shikigami play against DhillDucks, while Supernova will begin Relegation with a match against Amplify.

The last time Shikigami and Amplify faced off was back in Stage 1 on January 31st, where Shikigami won 3-1. Should Amplify win against Supernova, they’ll be looking to settle the score in a potential grudge match if Shikigami also advances.
